Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ is a Japanese anime television series that aired from 1986 to 1987. Animated by Sunrise and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the show serves as the third installment in the Gundam franchise and acts as a direct sequel to Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. It is recognized as the final television series in the franchise released during Japan’s Showa period. The narrative is set in the year Universal Century 0088, immediately following the conclusion of the Gryps War. As the Earth Federation remains ineffective, the Anti-Earth Union Group faces a new threat from Haman Karn and her Neo-Zeon forces, who operate from the asteroid Axis with the goal of reviving the Zabi empire. Following the decimation of the AEUG, the crew of the ship Argama seeks assistance from a young junk collector named Judau Ash, who resides on the Side 1 colony of Shangri-La. The series features voice performances by actors including Kazuki Yao, Maya Okamoto, and Eriko Hara.
