In the nineteenth episode of the first season, the story centers on Juleka, a student who is left out of a class photograph. The exclusion leaves her feeling dejected, and the negative emotion attracts the attention of the series’ antagonist, Hawk Moth. He uses the emotion to create an akuma, which transforms Juleka into the super‑villain Reflekta. Reflekta possesses the ability to turn anyone she touches into a duplicate of herself, a power she quickly employs on the surrounding crowd. Among those she transforms is Cat Noir, the alter‑ego of Adrien Agreste, who, like the other victims, becomes a mirror image of Reflekta. The mass duplication spreads throughout the area, creating a chaotic scene in which the city’s inhabitants are rendered indistinguishable from the villain.

Marinette Dupain‑Cheng, who operates as the heroine Ladybug, becomes aware of the akuma’s effects and moves to intervene. Together with Cat Noir—who must contend with his own transformation—Ladybug seeks a way to break the akuma’s hold and restore the affected citizens to their original forms. The episode follows their attempts to counter Reflekta’s mirroring ability, emphasizing the emotional stakes tied to Juleka’s feelings of exclusion and the broader theme of identity that runs through the series.
