Ming Dynasty is a television series centered on the life of Sun Ruo Wei, a woman whose family is killed following orders from the Yongle Emperor in 1402. After narrowly escaping death, she is secretly adopted by Sun Zhong. The narrative follows her journey as she becomes the concubine of the crown prince, Zhu Zhan Ji, by chance. While initially driven to uncover the truth regarding her family’s demise, Sun Ruo Wei eventually chooses to abandon her plans for revenge. She recognizes that destabilizing the court to achieve her personal goals would be too dangerous. Over time, she is moved by the kindness shown to her by Zhu Zhan Ji. Consequently, she resolves to dedicate herself to becoming a virtuous empress capable of supporting him during periods of hardship. The story explores the complexities of her role within the imperial court as she navigates these challenges. The series concludes with the unfortunate passing of Zhu Zhan Ji, leaving Sun Ruo Wei to continue her path as a significant historical figure.
