The story follows Malan, a jobless twenty-five year old youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. Malan suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset. His fear is so extreme that he prefers to sleep with his widowed mother Geetha, and have her accompany him to the bathroom at night and during meal times. This behavior causes major annoyance in the household, which includes Malan's brother Gamini, his sister-in-law Nirmala, and their children. The film blends elements of horror, comedy, and drama, and has a runtime of two hours and forty minutes.
