Magical Emi, the Magic Star is a television series that revolves around an elementary schoolgirl who aspires to be a magician. She is a member of her grandparents' Magiccarat troupe but feels her skills are not sufficient. The series follows her journey as she encounters a magical event that changes her life. A light enters a strange heart-shaped mirror, which is inhabited by a mirror fairy named Topo. Topo takes over her favorite stuffed toy, a flying squirrel, and gives her a special bracelet. The bracelet has the ability to transform into a bubble wand, which in turn allows the girl to become an 18-year-old magician. As Magical Emi, she uses her magic to help people and participates in her grandparents' shows.
