Overview
Macross Frontier is a Japanese science fiction mecha anime series created by Shoji Kawamori. The show is part of the long-running Macross franchise, which was originally created by Studio Nue. Set in the year 2059, the story follows the Macross Frontier, a super long-range emigration fleet carrying over ten million people as it traverses the galaxy in search of habitable planets. The narrative centers on three young adults and the events surrounding them as the fleet encounters a crisis of alien origin. When the 25th Frontier fleet, located near the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, is attacked by extraterrestrial beings known as the Vajra, a bored colonist named Alto Saotome joins the Valkyrie pilots to defend the fleet. The series also features the arrival of the superstar songstress Sheryl Nome, who is widely known as the Galactic Fairy, as she boards the Frontier to perform a concert. This production continues the legacy of a franchise that has encompassed forty years of science fiction storytelling.
