Overview

Liar Game is a television anime series based on the manga created by Shinobu Kaitani. The production, which is animated by Madhouse, premiered in April 2026. The story follows Nao Kanzaki, a character who receives a mysterious letter and a suitcase containing 100 million yen. Upon opening the package, she discovers she has been selected to participate in a high-stakes competition known as the Liar Game. This psychological battle is defined by deception, betrayal, and pervasive lies. Because Nao is characterized as naïve and honest, she seeks assistance from Shinichi Akiyama, who is a brilliant former con artist. Together, they attempt to survive the twisted challenges of the game. The series explores whether honesty can prevail in an environment where players must manipulate others to succeed. The project was announced for a 2026 release during an industry panel and was subsequently made available for broadcast and streaming. The voice cast for the production includes Takeo Otsuka, Yoji Ueda, Nobuo Tobita, and Saya Hitomi.
