Le cœur a ses raisons is a French‑language Québécois téléroman that aired beginning in 2005. Set in the fictional city of Saint Andrews, it follows wealthy cosmetics businessman and doctor Brett Montgomery, his evil twin brother Brad, and their battle for the family fortune, alongside Brett’s journalist fiancée Cricket and her nurse twin sister Ashley. The show is described as a heavy parody of American soap operas, blending soap, drama, and comedy.
Culturally, the series is notable for its exaggerated, ridiculous take on melodrama, reflecting a self‑aware Quebec television tradition that lampoons the excesses of U.S. daytime serials. Its tone is overtly comedic and over‑the‑top, while the pacing stays brisk, moving quickly through plot twists and twin rivalries, making it a fast‑moving satire rather than a slow‑burn drama.
