Anne Dorval is a French Canadian television, stage, and film actress born on November 8, 1960, in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, Canada. Active since her first professional theatre role in 1985, she has appeared in numerous theatre productions, films, and television series, earning multiple awards. Outside of Quebec, she is widely known for her collaborations with director Xavier Dolan, appearing in five of his films including I Killed My Mother in 2009 and Heartbeats in 2010. After Dolan asked her to be in his first movie, the two became close friends and have collaborated many times. In addition to her acting work in film, television, and stage, Dorval is a prominent dubbing actress in Quebec who has dubbed the voices of famous English-speaking actresses, and she is a talented singer featured on multiple albums.
