Overview
Johnny Bravo is an American animated sitcom created by Van Partible for Cartoon Network. As the second entry in the network’s Cartoon Cartoons programming block, the series originally aired from July 14, 1997, until August 27, 2004. The show chronicles the misadventures of the titular character, a blonde-haired, biceps-bulging man who wears sunglasses and is loosely based on Elvis Presley and James Dean. Voiced by Jeff Bennett, Johnny Bravo considers himself a gift to women, though he is widely perceived by others as a narcissistic Mama's boy with big hair. Despite his belief in his own manliness and success with the opposite sex, he is a quintessential character who fails to understand social cues and frequently becomes his own worst enemy. The series features a voice cast that includes Brenda Vaccaro, Mae Whitman, and Tom Kenny. The first two seasons of the program are available for streaming and download through the Internet Archive.
