Hunter x Hunter is a Japanese anime television series based on the manga written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The program was produced by Nippon Animation and originally aired on Fuji Television from October 16, 1999, to March 31, 2001, spanning a total of 62 episodes. The narrative follows a young boy named Gon Freecss, who eventually discovers that the father he was told was dead is actually alive. His father, Ging, is a famous Hunter, which is an elite individual who has proven their worth to humanity. Determined to follow in his father's footsteps, Gon leaves home alone to undergo the rigorous Hunter Examination. During this difficult test, he meets fellow characters named Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua. The television series adapts the first 11 volumes of the original manga source material. The voice cast for the series includes Junko Takeuchi, Yuki Kaida, Cheryl McMaster, and Kanako Mitsuhashi. The show documents the history of Gon as he pursues his goal of becoming a Hunter.
