Hotel is an American prime time drama series that aired on the ABC network from September 21, 1983, to May 5, 1988. The program occupied the timeslot immediately following the series Dynasty. Produced by Aaron Spelling and created by John Furia and Barry Oringer, the show is based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Arthur Hailey. The narrative is set within the elegant and fictitious St. Gregory Hotel, located in San Francisco. For the production, establishing shots of the hotel were filmed in front of The Fairmont San Francisco, situated atop the Nob Hill neighborhood.
