Overview

Hardcastle and McCormick is an American action and drama television series produced by Stephen J. Cannell Productions. The program originally aired on the ABC network between 1983 and 1986. The series features Brian Keith in the role of Judge Milton C. Hardcastle and Daniel Hugh Kelly as Mark Skid McCormick. The character of McCormick is portrayed as an ex-convict and race car driver. The narrative premise of the show was partially recycled from a previous production by Stephen J. Cannell titled Tenspeed and Brown Shoe. As a television drama, the series follows the professional association between the judge and the former convict. The show remains a notable entry in the catalog of Stephen J. Cannell Productions for its three-year run on network television. By focusing on the interplay between the two central characters, the series established its own identity within the action genre of the early 1980s. The production concluded its broadcast run in 1986 after three seasons of episodes.
