Overview

Half Heaven is a 2023 film that follows the story of a preacher named Kizito who travels to a location called Mboko. As a self-righteous and legalist individual, Kizito is mandated to complete a one-month soul-winning trip to this area, which is described as a dreaded and godless ghetto, in order to validate his eligibility for ordination. Upon his arrival, he is rescued and aided by an infamous prostitute named Bisona. Bisona provides housing for Kizito for the duration of his assignment. This interaction between the preacher and the woman leads to an unlawful combination that develops into a rare type of chemistry, which eventually sparks into love. As the narrative progresses, Kizito discovers that the ghetto of Mboko holds a significance for him that extends beyond his initial purpose as a destination for his assignment. The film explores the transformation of his perspective while he navigates his mandated mission and his unexpected relationship with Bisona within the challenging environment of the ghetto.
