Overview
Green Book is a 2018 American film directed by Peter Farrelly. The film is a biographical comedy-drama inspired by the true story of a tour through the Deep South by a pianist and a bouncer in 1962. During this time, African Americans relied on a guide called The Negro Motorist Green Book to find alternate accommodations and services due to segregation laws. The film stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali, with the story inspired by the real-life friendship between Don Shirley and Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga, a bouncer and later an actor.
