The Goodyear Television Playhouse is an American anthology series that was telecast live on NBC during the "Golden Age of Television". It was sponsored by Goodyear, with the company alternating sponsorship with Philco. The series was part of a rotation that included the Philco Television Playhouse, which was seen on alternate weeks. This rotation also included The Alcoa Hour, with which The Goodyear Television Playhouse alternated sponsorship in 1955, under the shortened title The Goodyear Playhouse. The series featured a group of young writers, who were nurtured and encouraged by producer Fred Coe.
