Overview

Gente Fina is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by TV Globo. The series premiered on March 12, 1990, and concluded on August 17, 1990, running for a total of 137 episodes. The story centers on Guilherme, who faces a financial crisis and receives an ultimatum to pay his overdue rent within twenty-four hours or face eviction from his Copacabana apartment in Rio de Janeiro's South Zone. He lives there with his family, which includes his wife Joana, his children Kika, Beto, and Tatá, and his father Olavo. Left with no other option, the family moves into a large house in São Cristóvão located in the North Zone, which was lent to them by a Portuguese friend named Joaquim. The family struggles to adapt to the suburban neighborhood and cope with their lack of money, and to overcome the crisis, Guilherme becomes a partner in Joaquim's auto business.
