Overview
Fullmetal Alchemist is a Japanese anime television series that aired from 2003 to 2004. The show follows two young brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who are raised as skilled alchemists. After a forbidden alchemical ritual goes wrong, the brothers suffer severe injuries and begin searching for the fabled philosopher's stone, which they believe can restore their bodies. The series was produced by Bones in collaboration with Mainichi Broadcasting System and Aniplex. It is loosely based on the manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. The anime features character voices from performers such as Romi Park, Rie Kugimiya, and Vic Mignogna. Seiji Mizushima directed the series, with scripts contributed by several writers. The story combines elements of fantasy, adventure, and drama as the protagonists face both personal and societal challenges in their quest.
