From Beijing with Love is a 1994 Hong Kong spy comedy film. The film is a very direct spoof of the James Bond series and was directed by Stephen Chow and Lee Lik-chi. Released on October 13, 1994, in Hong Kong, the action and comedy film has a runtime of one hour and twenty-four minutes. The plot centers on a Chinese secret agent who travels to Hong Kong to reclaim a dinosaur fossil and experiences hilarious incidents because of his incompetence. When a huge dinosaur skull is stolen, the authorities decide to put agent Ling Ling Chat, whose name translates from Cantonese for zero zero seven, on the case. The character is described as a pork vendor turned secret agent. The film combines action and comedy elements as the protagonist attempts to handle his mission despite his lack of skill.
