Overview

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a television series that premiered in 2023. The story follows an elven mage named Frieren who served as the mage for a party of heroes that successfully defeated the Demon King and restored peace to the land. Her former companions included Himmel the Hero, Eisen the Warrior, and Heiter. Following their victory, the members of the party returned to lives of solitude. Because elves possess a significantly longer lifespan than humans or dwarves, Frieren eventually confronts the reality of humanity's mortality as her former comrades age and pass away. After attending the funeral of an old friend, Frieren embarks on a journey of self-discovery. She takes on a new apprentice and commits to fulfilling the dying wishes of her past companions. Throughout her travels, she grapples with the nature of life and death, reflecting on her memories of the group and their shared history, including their agreement to reunite for the next occurrence of the Era Meteors.
