Forbidden is a drama and television movie released in the United States on March 24, 1985, with a runtime of one hour and fifty-four minutes. The film is said to be based on a true story. Set in Berlin in the early 1940s, the story follows a young countess studying veterinary medicine who meets a young man at the home of a former professor, leading to a romance that is forbidden. The young countess becomes involved in helping Jews escape from the Nazis. While everyone manages to get out of Berlin, the young man does not. Within her apartment, there is a room where he cannot be seen through the windows and a chest that was converted into a sofa, which she and her brothers had played hide-and-seek in as children. This real-life game of hide-and-seek carries extremely high stakes for the characters involved in the situation.
