Overview

Firepower is a 1993 science-fiction action film directed by Richard Pepin. The film stars Chad McQueen, Gary Daniels, Joseph Ruskin, and Jim Hellwig in his first and only acting role. Set in the year 2007, the story takes place after crime has risen at an exponential rate, leaving once highly populated metropolises such as Los Angeles uninhabitable. These areas have transformed into Hell Zones, which are ruled by violent street gangs and serve as safe havens for criminal warpaths. The Hell Zone in Los Angeles, formerly called the Zone of Personal Freedom, is controlled by a criminal mastermind named Drexal, played by Joseph Ruskin. To entertain crowds of decadent losers and underlings, Drexal stages a series of lethal, no-holds-barred matches within the Death Ring. The film was released in the United States on January 19, 1994, has a runtime of one hour and thirty-five minutes, and spans the action, crime, and science fiction genres.
