S23·E1 Fat Gun

Episode recap

The twenty-third season of the animated series Family Guy opens with the episode titled Fat Gun. The episode functions as a parody of the film Top Gun.

In this parody storyline, the character Peter takes on the role of Maverick and gets together with Lois, who portrays the character Charlie. The narrative includes the tragic death of the character Joe, who takes on the role of Goose. Following these events, the episode chronicles a blooming relationship between Peter in his Maverick role and Chris, who portrays the character Rooster.

The series itself focuses on the adventures of the eccentric and dysfunctional Griffin family. The family features the bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois, alongside their three children. Among the children are Stewie, described as a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world, and Meg, the oldest child. The animated comedy series is known for its sick, twisted, politically incorrect, and freakin' sweet style.
