In the television series episode Adoptation, Carter makes the decision to adopt a young girl from an orphanage. The purpose of this adoption is to restore his public image. However, this action draws jealousy from Lois. The animated series focuses on the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family, which includes bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois, along with their three children. Among the children are Stewie, a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world, and Meg, the oldest child who is the most unpo. The series, created by Seth MacFarlane, features a sick, twisted, politically incorrect, and comedic tone as it follows the eccentric family living in their home. The overarching premise of the show revolves around the daily lives and antics of these characters.
