Drunken Master III is a 1994 action and comedy film directed by Lau Kar Leung. Set around the turn of the century in China, the story follows the White Lotus Society as they plot to put the next Emperor on the throne. To achieve this, they want their protege to marry Princess Sun Yu, who possesses an important jade ring. They dispatch Yueng Kwan to fetch her. However, Yueng Kwan is a patriot working for the revolutionary forces of Sun Yat Sen. He abducts Sun Yu and finds refuge with the father of the future hero Wong Fei Hung. The cast of the film includes Willie Chi, Andy Lau, Adam Cheng, Gordon Liu, Lau Kar Leung, Simon Yam, and Michelle Reis. Lau Kar Leung directed the project after being fired from an earlier project toward the end of filming, leading to this film being made without Jackie Chan, featuring a brand-new cast and story, and being regarded as an unofficial sequel.
