Dream Home 2014

Overview

Dream Home is a large-scale decoration reality show produced by Dragon TV in China. First airing in 2014, the program focuses on assisting ordinary families across the country who are experiencing living difficulties. By utilizing the ingenuity of professional designers, the show aims to complete home improvement projects that appear impossible to achieve under restricted budgets. The series distinguishes itself from traditional decoration programs by moving beyond a primary focus on color and soft furnishings. Instead, the production emphasizes the functional transformation of space. Working within the constraints of limited funds and small footprints, designers perform thorough renovations tailored to the specific needs of each participating household. The show is documented as a reality series centered on the practical realization of home improvement dreams. While other programs like the HGTV series Dream House also follow families through renovation or new construction processes, Dream Home remains a distinct production centered on the specific social and spatial challenges faced by families in China.
