Overview

Dondo Hare is a Japanese television drama that aired on NHK in 2007 as the seventy-sixth Asadora. The series follows Natsumi, a twenty-three-year-old woman living in Yokohama with her parents and younger brother. As the daughter of a master baker, Natsumi is training with her father to become a pastry chef. The story begins when she travels to Iwate Prefecture with her boyfriend Masaki to attend his grandmother Katsuno's seventy-seventh birthday celebration. Katsuno is the head okami of a famous ryokan in Morioka City. During the visit, Katsuno falls ill and asks Masaki to return home and run the ryokan. Following this, Natsumi returns to Yokohama. Masaki later visits her and asks her to disregard their earlier marriage plans because he is returning to Morioka to fulfill his grandmother's request.
