The story follows a married couple named Tim and Lee, who have a young child. Their opportunity to stay at a fancy home in the Hollywood Hills becomes complicated when Tim discovers a bone and a rusty old gun in the yard. While Tim is excited by the idea of a mystery, Lee prefers that he focus on family taxes that he promised to take care of weeks ago and does not want him to dig any further. This disagreement sends the couple on separate and unexpected adventures over the course of a weekend. During this time, Tim and his friends seek clues to the mystery, while Lee searches for answers to bigger questions regarding marriage and parenthood.
