Overview

Dead Mount Death Play is a Japanese anime television series adaptation based on the manga series written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto. The animated series was produced by Geek Toys and aired in two cours during 2023. The story begins during a legendary battle where a hero nears victory against a powerful necromancer known as The Corpse God. In a final gambit, the necromancer utilizes reincarnation magic, which catches the hero off guard. As a result, the necromancer is reborn as a young boy named Polka Shinoyama in modern-day Tokyo. Upon arriving in this new world, the necromancer finds himself entangled in a mystery concerning the boy and his own past. This narrative explores the continued conflict between good and evil as the character navigates his new existence. The series, which originated from a manga serialization that began in Square Enix's Young Gangan in October 2017, features a voice cast that includes Morgan Berry, Brandon Acosta, Bree Han, and Yuuki Sakakihara.
