Das Kriminalmuseum is a German television series that was one of the first programs on ZDF. The series ran for several years, during which time it featured a unique format where each episode began with a tracking shot through an unspecified crime museum. This shot would stop at one of the displays, and the story of the exhibit would then be told. Each episode was a self-contained story, and they varied in length, ranging from 60 to 75 minutes. The series featured different actors playing the role of the criminal commissioner, with one actor, Erik Ode, being particularly well known for his portrayal. Ode eventually left the series to appear in another show, Der Kommissar. The series' theme music was composed by Martin Böttcher, who also composed the complete scores for at least five episodes.
