Dark Tales is a series of period supernatural dramas that originally aired on Jade from March 18, 1996. The series is based on Qing Dynasty writer Pu Songling's series of supernatural tales called Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. It consists of two installments with 75 episodes. The series is a Hong Kong television production, jointly produced by Television Broadcasts Limited of Hong Kong and the Taiwan region of China. The show is directed by Liu Shiyu and written by Ding Shanxi, starring Gallenlaw, Yu Xiaofan, Chin Siu-Ho, and others. The series explores various themes, including love, promises, and the supernatural, with each episode featuring a unique storyline. The episodes are adapted from Pu Songling's tales, including "Mr. Lu's Daughter" and "Heroine Tian". The series premiered on March 18, 1996, and concluded on May 1, 1998.
