Danganronpa: The Animation is a Japanese anime television series based on the visual novel Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The series is produced by Lerche and aired on MBS's Animeism programming block. It is part of the Danganronpa franchise, a Japanese visual novel series created by Kazutaka Kodaka and published by Spike Chunsoft. The story follows a group of teenagers who enroll in a prestigious high school, which turns out to be a devious trap.
