In the second season of CSI: Miami, episode six, Horatio and his team are tasked with investigating two seemingly unrelated cases that are connected by a hurricane. The first case involves a man and his wife who are driving through the storm when they strike and kill another man. However, upon closer examination, Horatio finds that the lack of impact wounds on the victim's knees suggests that he was the one who struck the car, not the other way around.

Meanwhile, another victim is found impaled on a fence, and as the CSIs begin to investigate, they uncover a connection between the two cases. The team must navigate the scattered remains of post-storm evidence to piece together the events surrounding the two deaths.

In a separate case, Calleigh witnesses a man looting a house during the hurricane, but she soon discovers that the man's ex-wife has been found shot to death inside the house. This adds another layer of complexity to the investigation, as the team must now consider the possibility of a connection between the looting and the murder.

As the CSIs work to uncover the truth behind these two cases, they must also contend with the challenges of investigating crimes that occurred during a hurricane. The storm has left a trail of destruction and chaos, making it difficult for the team to gather evidence and piece together the events surrounding the crimes.
