Synopsis
Dennis stops using the Rovers' phone when he discovers the Barlows have had one installed since he was last in Weatherfield. The residents think Frank must have something else on his mind to recover from Christine so easily. In Swindley's absence, Emily and Doreen run Gamma Garments very smoothly. Mavis Fox arrives from London looking for a "Coronation Street" with detached houses in. Dennis catches up with her and explains that his Grannie lives in the street whilst he's looking after his father's mill. She is thrilled and he installs her in a hotel. Emily and Doreen fall for the van drivers, Alf and Fred who transfer some of their stock to another branch. They then discover there was no transfer and the stock has been stolen.

Dennis stops using the telephone at the Rovers when he discovers that the Barlows have had a phone installed since he was last in Weatherfield. Meanwhile, local residents discuss Frank, concluding that he must have something else on his mind to recover from Christine so easily. In Swindley's absence, Emily and Doreen run Gamma Garments very smoothly.
A visitor named Mavis Fox arrives from London looking for a Coronation Street with detached houses in it. Dennis catches up with her and explains that his grannie lives in the street while he is looking after his father's mill. Mavis is thrilled, and Dennis installs her in a hotel.
Elsewhere at Gamma Garments, Emily and Doreen fall for the van drivers, Alf and Fred, who transfer some of the company stock to another branch. The women subsequently discover that there was no such transfer and that the stock has actually been stolen.
