In this episode of Coronation Street, domestic tensions and suspicions reach new heights among the residents. May complains of experiencing pains, though Christine believes she is simply seeking attention. Meanwhile, Lucille dresses up in Christine's dress and marks it. Later, Malcolm and Christine go out to the dance.

Elsewhere, turmoil surrounds Dennis and Elsie. Dennis refuses to tell Elsie why the police want to speak with him, but he eventually reveals that the authorities suspect him of breaking and entering on the very night he won his money, and he lacks an alibi. Fortunately, Harry steps forward to reveal that he saw Dennis at the dogs winning the money.

Medical worries also plague the neighborhood, as Ena becomes convinced that she is going to die. Despite her fears, Ena takes matters into her own hands by walking out of the hospital and making her way back to the Mission.
