City Hunter is a Japanese anime television series based on the manga of the same name by Tsukasa Hojo. The series follows the adventures of Ryo Saeba, a gun-for-hire living in the Tokyo metropolis. Ryo works as a sweeper who takes on dangerous jobs, often preferring assignments that involve beautiful women. He is assisted by his sidekick, Kaori Makimura, who helps him navigate his professional life. When not working on a case, Ryo frequently pursues romantic interests, a habit that Kaori manages by using a 10 kilogram hammer to keep him in check. In his line of work, Ryo utilizes a Colt Python to resolve the problems brought to him by his clients. The series is recognized for its distinct 1980s aesthetic and its original soundtrack.
