Overview
"Christy" is an American historical fiction drama television series. The series aired on CBS, premiering in April 1994 and concluding in August 1995. It was based on the novel of the same name by Catherine Marshall, the widow of Senate chaplain Peter Marshall. The novel had been a bestseller in 1968. Following the debut of the television adaptation, the novel experienced a significant increase in popularity, rising to #15 on the USA Today bestseller list from its previous ranking. The series regular Tyne Daly received an Emmy Award for her work on the series.
