Overview

The film is set in the Northern Song Dynasty. Li Shishi, born at a young age, lost both her parents at the age of four. She was left to be raised by Granny Li, a former comedian. Li Shishi was eventually trained to become a renowned courtesan in Bianjing. She secretly fell in love with a renowned musician, Zhou Bangyan. Emperor Huizong Zhao Jiqiao, disguised as a wealthy businessman, visited the brothel to witness the beauty in person. Li Shishi became infatuated with the emperor. She also secretly met with Jia Yi and Zhou Bangyan, which led to her becoming a laughing stock. The film depicts the events that occurred when the Jin army invaded and the emperor was captured.
