Cellmates is a 2011 American comedy and drama film directed and written by Jesse Baget. The film features a cast including Tom Sizemore, Stacy Keach, Kevin P. Farley, Héctor Jiménez, and Olga Segura. The story follows Leroy Lowe, a grand dragon of the Texas Ku Klux Klan who is sentenced to three years of hard labor at a prison work farm. Upon his arrival, he finds himself abandoned by his former associates and placed in a cell with Emilio, a Hispanic field worker who was imprisoned for his efforts to support labor rights. Warden Merville, who is determined to rehabilitate Leroy, facilitates this pairing. As Leroy is forced to share a small living space with someone he was taught to hate, the chatty Emilio begins to challenge his long-held prejudices and anger. The narrative also includes Leroy's weekly rehabilitation meetings with the warden, where the two discuss farm labor. The film has a runtime of one hour and twenty-five minutes and was released in the United States on June 1, 2012.
