Bubblegum Crisis is a television series set in MegaTokyo, a city rebuilt in 2033 after a great earthquake. The city was recreated with the aid of Genom Corp, a multi-million dollar company that mass-produced biomechanical creatures called Boomers to aid in the restoration of MegaTokyo. The ADPolice initially attempted to stop the out-of-control Boomers but found them to be difficult to handle. In response to the threat posed by the Boomers, a group of four girls from different backgrounds formed a team to defend the city. This group, known as the Knight Sabers, was equipped with the necessary firepower and resourcefulness to counter the threat posed by Genom and its Boomers.
