Borealis is a 2015 Canadian comedy-drama film directed by Sean Garrity. The film stars Jonas Chernick as Jonah Finn and Joey King as his daughter Aurora, alongside Emily Hampshire and Clé Bennett. The story follows Jonah, an unemployed gambler from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who has accrued a substantial debt and takes his estranged, pot-smoking, teenaged daughter on a dangerous road trip. Aurora suffers from a degenerative eye disease and a vision disorder that will eventually render her completely blind. Jonah takes her on this journey to Churchill, Manitoba, to show her the magnificent Northern Lights before her vision is completely lost. The film runs for one hour and thirty-five minutes and was released in Canada on September 5, 2015.
