In the pilot episode of the television series Bones, renowned forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan returns to Washington, D.C. Following her return, she is called in by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth to aid an ongoing FBI investigation. The case involves a set of human bones that have been found hidden in a lake. Dr. Brennan uses her expertise in forensics to assist with the investigation, working alongside her colleagues at the Jeffersonian Medico-Legal Lab where the team assists special investigations into criminal matters. The series explores the combination of forensic science and criminal investigation while also introducing the lives of the crew working at the laboratory.
