Overview

Blue Exorcist is a television series that premiered in 2011. The story takes place in a world where humans reside in Assiah and demons inhabit Gehenna. Although these two dimensions are not intended to interfere with one another, demons frequently possess creatures within the human world. Humans capable of fighting these entities are referred to as exorcists. The narrative follows a young man named Rin Okumura, who discovers that he is the illegitimate son of Satan. After his foster father sacrifices his life to save him from demons, Rin resolves to avenge his death. To prove himself and master his abilities, Rin enrolls in the True Cross Academy. There, he trains alongside other students to hone his skills with the ultimate goal of defeating his father, Satan. The series features voice performances from actors including Nobuhiko Okamoto, Bryce Papenbrook, Jun Fukuyama, and Johnny Yong Bosch. The program explores the conflict between these two dimensions as Rin navigates his path as an exorcist while bearing the curse of his heritage.
