Overview
Kemono Jihen is a Japanese television series that premiered in 2021. The series follows the story of a detective from Tokyo who specializes in the occult and is called to investigate a case in a remote mountain village. Inugami, the detective, befriends a strange boy who works in the field every day instead of going to school and is shunned by his peers. The boy is nicknamed Dorotabo after a yokai that lives in the mud. As Inugami works the case, he uncovers the truth behind a series of animal bodies that rot away after a single night. The series is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Sho Aimoto, which has been serialized in Shueisha's shonen manga magazine Jump Square. An anime television series adaptation was produced, with the series featuring the voice talents of Natsuki Hanae, Jun'ichi Suwabe, Ayumu Murase, and Natsumi Fujiwara.
