Overview

Black Cat is a 1991 action, crime, thriller, and romance film that premiered in Hong Kong on August 17, 1991. The movie stars Jade Leung in the lead role of Catherine, a violent and disturbed young woman. Following an incident where she accidentally kills a truck driver and evades a formal trial, Catherine is captured by government forces. She is taken to a training facility where she undergoes rigorous endurance, combat, and weapons training. During this process, a chip is inserted into her brain, placing her under the control of the American CIA and granting her the code name Black Cat. As a highly skilled government assassin, she eventually finds herself in a difficult position when she enters a romantic relationship. Catherine must then navigate the conflict between her personal feelings for her boyfriend and the binding obligations of her deal with the government.
