Overview
Arknights is a Japanese anime television series based on the mobile game of the same name. The show is produced by Yostar Pictures and directed by Yuki Watanabe. The first season, titled Arknights: Prelude to Dawn, aired in 2022. The series is set in a world where mysterious disasters have reshaped society, leading to the rise of mobile cities. A powerful mineral called Originium has accelerated technological progress but also causes a fatal disease known as Oripathy. Those infected face widespread persecution. Amid this backdrop, a rebellion emerges as a pharmaceutical company seeks a cure to save humanity. The show explores themes of societal inequality, survival, and resistance. Voice actors featured in the series include Yuki Kaida, Tomoyo Kurosawa, Satoi Shibuya, and Gui Niang. The original game, developed by Hypergryph, is a strategic RPG available globally outside of China. A second season of the anime adaptation is in development.
