Alvin and the Chipmunks is an American animated television series that premiered on September 17, 1983, and concluded on December 1, 1990. Produced by Bagdasarian Productions in association with Ruby-Spears Productions, the program aired on NBC as a follow-up to the original 1961–1962 series titled The Alvin Show. The narrative centers on three chipmunk brothers, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, who are adopted by a human named Dave. The series features the voice talents of Ross Bagdasarian Jr., Janice Karman, Frank Welker, and Dody Goodman, with direction by Charles August Nichols. Throughout its run, the show introduced the Chipettes, a trio of female chipmunks.
