Overview
Akiba Maid War is an original Japanese anime television series set in Akihabara during the spring of 1999. The story follows seventeen-year-old Nagomi Wahira, who moves to the district with the dream of working at a maid café. She begins her journey at Ton Tokoton, a pig-themed café also known as the Pig Hut, where she is paired with Ranko, a seemingly unenthusiastic coworker. As Nagomi adapts to the competitive world of maid cafés, she works to improve her skills and help elevate the café’s standing among its rivals. The series explores her personal growth and the challenges of navigating both work and life in the vibrant and eccentric setting of late 1990s Akihabara. The show was produced by Cygames and P.A. Works, directed by Sōichi Masui, and features character designs by Manabu Nii and music by Yoshihiro Ike. It originally aired from October to December 2022.
