Overview

Active Raid is a television series set in a part of Tokyo that has descended into a quagmire. The narrative focuses on the activities of Unit 8, which belongs to the 5th Special Public Security Section's 3rd Mobile Assault Division. Popularly referred to as The Eighth, the members of this unit utilize powered armor known as Willware exoskeletons to address and counter a rise in criminal activity. The plot introduces Assistant Inspector Asami Kazari, who is assigned to the unit with the official responsibility of assessing the status of The Eighth and providing reports to her superiors. Beyond this formal assignment, Kazari harbors a personal objective to rehabilitate the group, which is characterized in the story as being sloppy, haphazard, and lacking in justice. The series explores the dynamics of this specialized division as they operate within their troubled urban environment while navigating the internal challenges presented by Kazari’s oversight and their own unconventional approach to law enforcement and public security.
