A Country Practice is an Australian television drama series that was produced by James Davern of JNP Productions. The series ran on the Seven Network for a significant number of episodes from 18 November 1981 to 22 November 1993. It was produced in ATN-7's production facility at Epping, Sydney. The show was one of the longest-running of its kind at its inception. After its run on the Seven Network, it was picked up by Network Ten with a mainly new cast from April to November 1994 for 30 episodes. The series originated from a pilot episode written by James Davern, who entered a script contest for the network in 1979 and came third, winning a merit award.
